Why We Help

There’s an adage that goes, “human beings have a tendency to compare their insides to other people’s outsides.” We think this is especially true in the hyper-connected, modern era of social media. When our lives get messy we don’t feel “#blessed” to be granted a front row seat to the best, posed, moments of every Tom, Dick, and Henrietta we’ve ever come in contact with. In a world that can sometimes feel like a series of tan, smiling, barefoot families, in color coordinated outfits, strolling on a beach at sunset—we want you to know the truth about us.

Yes, we are professionals, and we present well. We have educations, training, experience, and credentials. We have (we think) a beautiful website, and we show up to do this job—composed and clear-eyed—with our clothes ironed, and our hair, and teeth brushed. Heck, in certain light, from some angles, we’re even photogenic. But, dear Prospective Clients, we have struggled, and we will struggle.

In our personal lives, we’ve been through major life challenges such as: Trauma, anxiety, depression, learning differences, bullying, failure, disappointment, heartbreak, divorce, surgeries, health scares, addiction, grief, and plenty more. The real point here is, we have seen our lives come apart, and when they did, we hired intelligent, compassionate, professionals to help us piece them back together. So, when we have the privilege to hear, and help with a family’s struggles, we do so from a place of non-judgement and understanding.

We love to help families heal. We help in the way our lives, educations, and careers, have determined we should. We do it because we’re good at it, it makes us feel good, and because we’ve been helped.
